Open Mic Night at El Sid

We encourage the public to come out and enjoy an evening of talented artists getting vulnerable and sharing their work on stage. We’re incredibly thankful to El Sid for hosting and providing such a great room for this kind of event. While they’ve generously opened their space to us, El Sid is a business — a bar with a great food menu — and the longevity of this open mic depends on all of us supporting the venue by purchasing food and drinks while we’re there.

How It Works

Sign up in person or sign up online anytime (recommended to ensure your spot). Performance order is determined by signup — first come, first served. Each performer gets 2 songs (approximately 8 minutes). Time limits will be enforced to keep things fair and keep the night moving. This open mic is geared toward solo and duo singer songwriters, with a maximum of three performers on stage at one time. It is not designed for full bands.

Bring:

  • Your instruments and any gear you plan to use (plug-and-play ready)

  • No more than 3 performers on stage at a time (no full bands)

What we provide:

  • Microphones

  • Basic PA system with monitors

  • Sound engineer (your host for the evening!)

  • Small amps

  • Keyboard (remains on stage)

  • 1 DI box dedicated for acoustic guitar

  • 1 DI box dedicated for the on-stage keyboard

Please do NOT bring:

  • Drum kits

  • Large setups or gear requiring major changes between acts

If you’re not present when your name is called, you’ll be moved to the bottom of the list (don’t worry, you will still be able to perform).

We’ll take short breaks for socializing, but during performances we ask that conversations stay quiet so everyone can listen and support the artists. Let’s keep the space welcoming, respectful, and encouraging for all.
