Everett Music Initiative (EMI) has taken a big step in partnering with Snohomish County Music Project as our Fiscal Sponsor. This is not only an important milestone for the organization, but this also means that EMI is now able to accept tax-deductible contributions and grants, offering vital funding opportunities following months of canceled events.

Due to COVID-19 and state mandates, EMI hasn’t had a full scale event since May of 2019. For an organization that has almost entirely operated off of ticket sales and event sponsorship since our infancy, this means one thing; we need to adapt and evolve. Our survival will depend on the community investing in the organization to get us through.

And we’ve already started to adapt, reimagining how to support artists, connect our community and finding ways to bring music to you. To this end, we announced HOMEBODIES, a streaming series featuring over 40 artists bringing concerts to your couch last spring. In September, we launched Fisherman’s Village Broadcasts, the virtual version of Fisherman’s Village Music Festival. This event had over 20,000 views, featured 12 regional artists and brought hours of high-caliber concert footage, artist interviews and a variety of content to your home.

Our mission is to build community through unforgettable music experiences, artist advocacy and development, and amplifying Everett’s identity as a destination. Since 2012, Everett Music Initiative has fulfilled that mission by:

  • Contributing over $20 million to the local economy

  • Producing or partnering on over 400 events and bringing 250,000 people to Everett

  • Hosting over 3,000 artists from seven different countries and 13 different states

  • Bringing over 4,000 overnight stays to Everett

  • Promoting events featured in The Seattle Times, Alaska Airlines Beyond Magazine, Evening Magazine, Paste Magazine, KEXP and more

Your financial support will not only allow us to continue our work, but also help us create events that will assist in our city’s recovery from this pandemic by supporting musicians, venues, hotels, restaurants and coffee shops. We can’t wait for the future of Everett Music Initiative and to share what we have in store.
